Have you been looking for Bible verse to heal a broken heart? My heart was broken many times and these are the verses that helped me through.
They say it´s better when someone wounded you with a knife. You can see the wound. You can put medicine. And you can see it heal.
But a wounded heart?
You don´t see it, you can´t bring it to a doctor (unless you pay a fortune on psychotherapy), and nobody sees the wound. You don´t know how long it will take you to heal a broken heart.
I´ve been there several times. I know how painful it can be. How dark and gloomy life turns to be, so different from the heavenly feeling you experienced when you were in love.

But we can rejoice because God is always there, comforting us. The more you turn to Him, the more that you´ll feel His presence.
Here are ten Bible verses to give you hope and strength while nursing a broken heart.
Table of Contents
1. Psalms 3:4-5
“To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.”
When you feel like nobody could truly understand you, that no amount of comforting words from friends and family could ease the pain, cry out to the Lord. Ask Him to comfort you. For reasons you´ll hardly understand, you will actually feel His embrace. His a true comforter, and He hears your cry.
2. Revelation 21:4
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
The greatest promise of the Revelation is that once we´re all in Heaven, there´ll be no more crying, no more death, and no more pain. But we can also find little heavens here on Earth. What happens if you found that heaven and then lost it? Is God still able to wipe your tears away? Sure, He is. Speak to Him in prayer, He´s the greatest listener.
3. Psalm 55:22
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
When all is dark and the future bleak, and you don´t know how to pick up the pieces or find the courage to start anew, cast all your fears, worries, and pain to your Father in Heaven. He´ll carry it for you like he carried you in Desiderata.
4. Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
When you feel like you´re on the brink of giving up, when all hope are gone, when you feel like you´re tired of carrying all these luggage and you want to move on but the pain is just too much … reach out to the Lord whose hand is already stretched out for you. He will gently comfort you. Ask Him to heal your wound and you´ll be amazed with how quickly the weight is lifted up.
5. Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
What is there to fear if you know that God, right this very moment when you´re feeling so alone in your pain, is by your side? He´ll walk you through this. Believe. Have faith.
6. Psalms 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
His the greatest healer of all times. He´ll touch your wound with His holy oil and it will quickly start to heal.
7. Acts 19:11-12
“And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.”
We don´t see God, we can´t touch the hem of His skirt or touch His hand. But unlike the early days when you have to push your way amidst the crowd just to get near Him, today you simply have to kneel in prayer behind closed doors and His right there, embracing you. Do you feel it?
8. Psalm 34:17-18
“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
God is so close to two people—the righteous and the broken-hearted. He hurts when you´re hurt and He cries when you cry. He´ll lift you up when you feel so down and He´ll make you whole when your spirit is crushed.
9. Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
This is my most favorite Bible verse. Whenever I lost a man I loved, no matter how much I was hurting, in a way I rejoiced because I knew that I was getting closer to the true love that God had prepared for me.
He´s saving the best for your future. Trust me, I´ve proven it in my life.
10. Psalm 46:5
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.
Isn´t it uplifting to know that throughout the dimness of the night, God will sustain you ´till dawn when the sun shines bright? How great is God?
“Your most profound and intimate experiences of worship will likely be in your darkest days—when your heart is broken, when you feel abandoned, when you´re out of options, when the pain is great—and you turn to God alone.” ~ Rick Warren
Physical wound may be better than a wounded heart. But even the biggest heartbreak can turn out a blessing if you believe that everything happens for a reason. As long as you believe that God is helping you, you will get through this.
